3.2.1. External I/O Termination

Analyze the LVDS interface's electrical specification requirement and ensure the common-mode voltage requirement based on your selected LVDS data rate meets the specification in the device data sheet. Use AC coupling and external voltage bias circuitry if the common-mode voltage of the output buffer does not match the differential receiver input common-mode voltage. Consider using a dedicated VICM voltage supply for wide LVDS interfaces that share a common VICM reference voltage. For more information about the VICM specification, refer to the device data sheet.

Note: Intel recommends to use SPICE or IBIS models to verify your AC-coupled or DC-coupled termination.
