22.1. About the Color Plane Manager IP

The IP receives frames or fields of RGB video from one or two Intel Streaming Video inputs. It transmits them over one or two Intel Streaming Video outputs according to your requirements. The IP can rearrange, merge, or split color planes, which allows you to separate an alpha channel from a four-channel RGBA input or reorder or duplicate color planes. When you select rearrange, you select the color plane order in the GUI. You cannot change the color plane order at run time.

The color plane manager IP supports:

  • Maximum frame resolutions of 16384 by 16384 pixels with 1 to 8 pixels in parallel in any color space.
  • Reading of progressive frames or interlaced fields.
  • Optional run-time control of pixel padding values.
  • Configurable processing of user metapackets.

The IP is available as full or lite variants. For more information on full and lite, refer to the Intel FPGA Streaming Video Protocol Specification.

An Avalon memory-mapped interface allows you to change color plane padding values at run time.
