8.4.1. No Symmetry

The FIR Filter IP has no axes of symmetry in the 2D coefficient array.

The number of horizontal taps (N) and the number of vertical taps (M) may both be even or odd numbers.

With run-time control of the coefficient data, the register map includes N×M addresses to allow the value of each coefficient to be updated individually. The IP indexes the coefficients within the register map in raster scan order.
