3.5.8.1.2. Enable Virtual Function
When the SR-IOV feature is enabled in the IP for the design example generation, the virtual functions can be enabled in the host system for the tests outlined in the subsequent sections, except for the External Descriptor Controller design example variant. You can bypass this step if you do not intend to test the virtual function (VF).
Here is the command to enable the VF for testing:
$echo <num_of_vfs> | sudo tee /sys/bus/pci/devices/<bdf>/sriov_numvfs
For example: Creating 4 VFs on the BDF of 0000:01:00.0 :
echo 4 | sudo tee /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:01\:00.0/sriov_numvfs
