6.2.7.1.2. Bind the Device

  1. Install the UIO base module.

    $ sudo modprobe uio

  2. Install uio_igb:

    $ sudo insmod ./kernel/linux/igb_uio/igb_uio.ko

  3. To bind the driver:
    $ cd ../../
$ sudo dpdk-stable/usertools/dpdk-devbind.py -b igb_uio <BDF>

    Example:

    $ sudo dpdk-stable/usertools/dpdk-devbind.py -b igb_uio 01:00.0

    To unbind the driver:

    $ sudo -c "echo <BDF> > sys/bus/pci/devices/<BDF>/driver/unbind"

    Example:

    $ sudo -c "echo 0000:01:00.0 > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/driver/unbind"
