2.3.2.5.2. RX Manual Adaptation Mode

The RX manual adaptation mode should be enabled in the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY IP when the data rate is < 7 Gbps and protocol mode is Basic, HDMI, SDI, or GPON protocol mode for all data rates.

When you are using the RX manual adaptation mode, you must set the RX EQ setting in the Analog Parameter Options GUI instead of leaving them to default values of 0. In the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY IP, there are baseline preset values for the RX equalizer parameters when you select the manual adaptation mode. Following are the preset values in the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY IP GUI for the RX manual adaptation mode:
  • VGA gain: 37
  • High frequency boost: 29
  • DFE Tap 1: 23
You can modify these RX equalizer values, if the preset values are not optimal for your GTS PMA links, in the Analog Parameter Options tab of the GUI or use the .qsf assignments to change the settings as explained in the Configuring the RX Adaptation Mode and PMA Manual Tuning section.
