2.6.1.1.1.1. HPS IO Placement Priority

HPS has 48 dedicated IOs; therefore, not all peripherals can fit in the HPS I/O. The Auto-Place IP tool prioritizes which peripherals to place first, and an error message may appear if a selected peripheral cannot be placed into the HPS I/O.

The peripheral priority list from highest to lowest:
  1. USB
  2. EMAC
  3. NAND
  4. SDMMC
  5. UART
  6. SPIM
  7. SPIS
  8. EMAC PHY (MDIO/I2C)
  9. I2C
  10. I3C
