2.11. VR Diagnostic
The debugger tool supports the Power Management Firmware (PMF) Voltage Regulator (VR) diagnostic flow, which includes the following tests:
- DIAG_OV_FAULT_LIMIT_TEST
- DIAG_OV_WARN_LIMIT_TEST
- DIAG_UV_WARN_LIMIT_TEST
- DIAG_UV_FAULT_LIMIT_TEST
- DIAG_VOUT_MAX_TEST
- DIAG_VADC_XCHECK_POR_TEST
- DIAG_VADC_XCHECK_BUMP_TEST
- DIAG_VADC_XCHECK_MIN_MAX_TEST
Before running the VR diagnostic test, you must first follow these steps:
- Go to Device and Pin Options > Power Management & VID > More Options... and then check the Diagnostic Boot checkbox. Click OK.
- Compile the design to create the .sof file with the VR diagnostic feature enabled.
- Program the .sof file onto the device to run the diagnostic test.
The diagnostic boot feature performs additional checks of the configuration and operation of the voltage regulator. This feature adds to the configuration time and should be enabled during the board bring-up operations.
Note: This feature is only supported on Agilex™ 5 devices with SmartVID standard power devices.
