2.8. Hard Processor System (HPS) Cold Reset
You can perform HPS cold reset on AVST, ASX4, and JTAG configuration scheme using the debugger tool. To perform the HPS cold reset, connect the device via the JTAG interface and the device then configures with HPS image.
After the cold reset, SDM wipes the HPS and loads the new HPS image from the last configuration source. To send a new HPS image from the tool, you must configure the device with HPS image via JTAG interface (regardless of the MSEL settings).
The new image must be built with the same Quartus® Prime version that the device is running on. Once the HPS cold reset is completed, the soft function status for HPS_COLDRESET at the Device Info tab turns on.
