2.1.2.3. Quartus® Prime Command Line Restrictions

Similar to Configuring the Output Directory, execution of quartus_ipgenerate command must not clean output directories for selected generation targets. This is to preserve the pre-generated Nios® II files. Do not implement the following arguments when you apply the quartus_ipgenerate command:
  • --clean

    Option to clear the generation directories for all the Platform Designer IP files (.qsys or .ip) in a project. This option is a short version of the clear_ip_generation_dirs option.

  • --clear_ip_generation_dirs

    Option to clear the generation directories for all the Platform Designer IP files (.qsys or .ip) in a project.
