The following settings are available for archiving projects:
- To save a project's elements in a single, compressed Quartus® Prime Archive File (.qar), click on Project > Archive Project. The .qar file preserves the logic design, project files, and settings necessary for restoring the project.
- Additionally, if you want to transfer your project to a new version of the Quartus® Prime software after applying Project > Archive Project, apply the Advanced Archive Settings > File Set > Source Control. This allows you to apply the .qar file as a golden project template.
The default settings include only hardware components. However, you can manually add software components to the .qar file, such as the Board Support Package project or application source code.
