2.3. Estimating Power Consumption

You can use the EPE spreadsheet to estimate the power consumption at any point of your design cycle. You can use the EPE spreadsheet to estimate the power consumption if you have not begun your design, or if your design is not complete. While the EPE spreadsheet can provide you with an estimate for your complete design, Intel strongly recommends using the Power Analyzer in the Quartus II or Intel® Quartus® Prime software for precise information of the exact placement and routing information of the design.
