A.5.3.2. F-Tile FGT Transmitter Setting Recommendations

Transmitter tuning is required for insertion loss greater than 20 dB for NRZ rates beyond 23 Gbps and any PAM4 rate with long reach (LR). The recommended TX equalization settings are shown as a reference point so that you can narrow your sweeping range of each TX equalization tap. These settings are found based on the figure of merit, such as BER measurement, eye height value, and FOM using the F-Tile FGT Hardware Setup You can download the TX equalization sweeping scripts from the example designs provided in F-Tile FGT Tuning Examples .
