6.9. Debugging Target Software in an Intel® Simics Simulator Session

Ashling* RiscFree* IDE for Intel® FPGAs provides several debug capabilities that allow you to perform the target software debugging more easily than using the resources of the Intel® Simics® simulator for Intel® FPGAs. The Ashling* RiscFree* IDE for Intel® FPGAs GUI provides a friendly interaction with the target software, allowing you to inspect source code, set breakpoints, and observe and update variable values and memory content, among other features.

The Ashling* RiscFree* IDE for Intel® FPGAs also allows you to perform a remote debug session connected to an Intel® Simics® session that can run on the same host PC or a remote system on the same network.
