2.7.1.1. PCS Configuration: Tx and Rx Datapaths

The PCS mode supports x2, x4, x6 and x8 bonding for the Tx Datapath or Tx Simplex mode of operation. The bonding across the Tx Transceiver Interface and Core Interface handles the de-skewing of the parallel data.

The PCS Direct does not support bonding for the RX datapath. For x2, x4, x6, and x8 configurations, each Rx lane is independent and has its own FEC and PCS processing. You must perform the de-skewing of the RX data for each lane using their valid signals.
