2.1.1.1.5. OTN

The OTN (Optical Transport Network) mode in the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY IP enables high-speed data transmission over optical media.

The OTN (in PMA direct mode) can be implemented with data rates of 1.3274G, 2.66G, 10.709G, 11.049G, 11.270G, 11.09G, 11.317G, 11.846G, 12.639G and 4x27.952493G using the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY IP.

Figure 12. PMA Direct OTN Mode

The 80-bit parallel data is processed between the user logic and the GTS PMA/FEC Direct PHY FPGA IP (configured for OTN). This IP core can process user data into a standard OTUk optical signal for transmission, or receive an OTUk signal and convert it back to parallel data for the user logic.

This IP core is also capable of handling OTU25u RS Data at 27.952493G for OTN.

Note: PCS66 Ethernet-Over-OTN is supported with the GTS Ethernet Hard IP. Refer to the GTS Ethernet Hard IP User Guide for more details

You need to configure the IP core in OTU25u RS(528,514) FEC Direct mode using the FEC option. Refer to FEC Options for more details.
