1.5.2. Step 2: Enable Fast Preservation

Follow these steps to enable the Fast Preserve option before running compilation.
  1. Click Assignments > Settings > Compiler Settings > Incremental Compile.
  2. Turn on the Fast Preserve option.

  3. Click OK.
Alternatively, you can enable Fast Preserve by specifying the following assignment in the project .qsf: 
set_global_assignment -name FAST_PRESERVE AUTO
