1.2.3. Altera® AXI4 Memory-Mapped Monitor BFM Architecture
The Altera® AXI4 Memory-Mapped Monitor BFM is a passive agent with all ports acting as inputs to monitor all channels for violations. Additionally, the Inline Monitor is an available wrapper around the Altera® AXI4 Memory-Mapped Monitor that includes two AXI4 interfaces. One interface connects to the manager, and the other interface connects to the subordinate. In this way, all transactions from the manager and subordinate pass through the monitor.
You can optionally configure the Monitor BFM for AXI4-Lite mode, which only performs checks pertaining to AXI4-Lite signals.
The Altera® AXI4 Memory-Mapped Monitor BFM provides the following AXI4 protocol checks:
- Write Address Channel Checks
- Write Data Channel Checks
- Write Resp Channel Checks
- Read Address Channel Checks
- Read Data Channel Checks
- Exclusive Access Checks
For the list of AXI4 assertions that the Altera® AXI4 Memory-Mapped Monitor supports, refer to AXI4 Assertions.
