2.4.19. Transmission of all Ethernet frames is suspended upon reception of PAUSE frame request from External link partner

Description

Upon receiving a PAUSE frame request from the link partner, the GTS Ethernet FPGA Hard IP indiscriminately halts the transmission of all Ethernet frames, including both data and control frames (0x8808). You can still transmit PFC or SFC frames by using the SFC/PFC frame generation feature within the GTS Ethernet Hard IP through register configuration.

Workaround

You should configure the GTS FPGA Ethernet Hard IP to continue traffic transmission upon receiving a pause request. Set the Stop TX Traffic when link partner sends PAUSE parameter to NO and use the o_rx_pause signal to make transmission decisions in the user/client logic, especially for transmitting control frames.
