3.1. Receiving from Embedded FPGA Hardware Developer

When separate teams or individuals handle FPGA hardware and software development, clear and well-documented handoff files are essential for smooth integration. These files ensure that both sides understand the system components' interfaces, functionality, and constraints.
As an embedded software developer, you are expected to receive these from the FPGA hardware developer:
  1. FPGA bitstream SOF file
  2. Hardware-specific files
    1. Board Support Package files
    2. QSYS and QPF files, or
    3. SOPCINFO file

If the Board Support Package (BSP) files are not received from FPGA hardware developer, a software developer can generate the BSP files themselves using QPF, QSYS or SOPCINFO file, with Board Support Package Editor.
