6.1.18. Pixel De-repetition

The pixel de-repetition block removes repeated pixels to accommodate low video resolutions (refer to section 6.4 of the HDMI 1.4 specification).

The pixel repetition received in the AVI infoframe is used to determine the pixel repetition factor. The pixel de-repetition block then removes the repeated pixels from the video stream according to the received pixel repetition factor. The ACTIVE_SAMPLE_COUNT and TOTAL_SAMPLE_COUNT registers in the CV2AXI (refer to section 9.4.2 ACTIVE_SAMPLE_COUNT(0x52) and section 9.4.5 TOTAL_SAMPLE_COUNT(0x55)) report the video resolution after the repeated pixels have been removed. The full range of pixel repetition factor specified in HDMI 1.4 is supported, from 0 to 9.
