4.2.1. Downloading the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Standard Edition and the SoC EDS Standard Edition
To get started with the Intel® FPGA RTE for OpenCL™ Standard Edition on the Cyclone® V SoC Development Kit, download the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Standard Edition and the SoC EDS Standard Edition for Linux from the Intel® FPGA Download Center.
The SDK includes the SD card image you need to recompile the OpenCL Linux kernel driver. If you wish to recompile the Linux kernel driver and write the SD card image on your own, download the RTE Standard Edition for SoC instead.
- To download the SDK, follow the instructions outlined in the Downloading the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Standard Edition section of the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Standard Edition Getting Started Guide.
- To download the RTE, perform the following tasks:
- Visit the FPGA Software Download Center page.
- Using the left-hand filter pane, perform the following steps to refine the search results:
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime Design Software option. This displays three Intel® Quartus® Prime software editions (Pro, Standard, or Lite).
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software. This displays a list of supported software versions.
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime software release version 18.1.
- Under Operating System, select Linux*.
- In the refined list of pages, click on the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL Pro Edition Software Version 18.1 page to download the software. The product download page appears.
- Click the RTE tab.
- Click the download button for Intel® FPGA Runtime Environment for OpenCL Linux Cyclone V SoC TGZ. See Download and install instructions to view the download and installation procedure.
- Accept the Software License Agreement to start the download process.
- Download the SoC EDS by performing the following steps:
- Visit the FPGA Software Download Center page.
- Using the left-hand filter pane, perform the following steps to refine the search results:
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime Design Software option. This displays three Intel® Quartus® Prime software editions (Pro, Standard, or Lite).
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software. This displays a list of supported software versions.
- Select the Intel® Quartus® Prime software release version 18.1.
- Under Additional Software, select Intel® SoC FPGA Embedded Development Suite (SoC EDS).
- Under Operating System, select Linux*.
- In the refined list of pages, click on the Intel® SoC FPGA Embedded Development Suite Standard Edition Software Version 18.1 for Linux page. The product download page appears.
- Under Downloads > Software Download, click on the Download <file name> button to download the software package.
