4.7. i_stats_snapshot Port

i_stats_snapshot is available only when the 32-bit soft CWBIN counters are enabled. The port is used to freeze the CWBIN counter values. The i_stats_snapshot signal can be used to freeze the CSRs so that it is able to be read. This is useful because the statistic counters are large and cannot be read using a single Avalon® memory-mapped interface read operation. If the values are not frozen before they are read, a change in the register values can occur while the read operation is being done on other parts.

Figure 26. Status Interface Behavior during Freezing i_stats_snapshot The waveform displays an event when i_stats_snapshot signal is used to freeze the statistics CSRs. Note that the underlying counters continue to track the IP core events.
