2.1. Altera® AXI4 Streaming BFM Overview
The Altera® AXI4 Streaming BFM suite provides bus functional models (BFMs) to simulate the behavior and facilitate the verification of IP. The Altera® AXI4 Streaming BFM suite includes support for both AXI4 streaming transmitter and receiver interfaces.
Use of these BFMs provides the following advantages:
- Accelerates verification by providing the key components of the verification testbench.
- Provides AXI4 streaming BFM components to serve as a standard AXI4 streaming protocol reference.
- Provides a SystemVerilog platform for constraint-driven randomized tests. For example, you can implement the following modules for random testing:
- Traffic scenario drivers
- Scoreboard and coverage facilities
- Assertion checkers
The Altera® AXI4 Streaming BFMs provide you with a set of application programming interfaces (API). You can use the APIs to construct, instantiate, control, and query signals in all BFM components.
