Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software Version 24.1 includes functional and security updates. Keep your software up-to-date and follow the technical recommendations that help to improve the security of your Quartus® Prime installation.
New Quartus® Prime Device Support and Device Support Enhancements
- Added new support for Agilex™ 5 E-Series devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
Note: Not all IP features are enabled for full programming support. For details, refer to Which Agilex™ 5 IP and IP features have limited hardware validation in Quartus® Prime Pro Edition version 24.1? in the Intel® FPGA Knowledge Base.
- Added new support for Agilex™ 7 F-Series and I-Series devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
New Quartus® Prime Installation and Licensing Features and Enhancements
- Enabled bitstream generation when you have a 30-day evaluation license.
- Added no-cost licensing for Agilex™ 5 E-Series devices. This license is provided automatically when you select Get Agilex 5 E-Series no-cost license option in either the License Setup Required dialog box or in the License Setup tool in the Quartus® Prime software.
- Released a new version (v11.19.5.0) of the FlexLM license daemons for Intel FPGA software.
If you use a floating license, upgrade your license daemons before the next release of Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software.
- Enhanced the Quartus® Prime installer:
- Enabled offline installation from downloaded files without the need for internet access.
- Enabled the ability to update an existing installation from the installer.
- Added ability to delete downloaded files after installation.
New Quartus® Prime GUI Features and Enhancements
- (Preproduction) Added the Exploration Dashboard to allows you to coordinate and view the compilation and timing results from multiple projects running on separate instances of Quartus® Prime software.
- Added ability to directly launch an IP example design in the Quartus® Prime GUI from the Generate Example Design dialog bog in Platform Designer.
- Added ability to launch simulation from the Quartus® Prime GUI with the menu item.
New Compilation Features and Enhancements
- Added the precompiled component (PCC) generation flow compilation stage to help reduce Synthesis compile time.
New Synthesis Features and Enhancements
- Added an RTL linter tool to help migrate RTL files from Quartus® Prime Standard Edition that might not conform to Verilog/VHDL standards. The RTL linter checks your RTL code without performing full synthesis and can help speed your migration to Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software.
- Improved RAM inference.
- Added ability to suppress warnings in RTL modules that are known to be good.
New Platform Designer Features and Enhancements
- Added a new Board Migration dialog box to simplify preset adaptation during the board migration process.
New Timing Analyzer Features and Enhancements
- Enhanced Timing Analyzer as follows:

New visualization convenience for timing in Chip Planner and in the asynchronous CDC report

New Advanced Link Analyzer Features and Enhancements
- Added Link Builder:
- New UI allows automatic channel/device import and schematic creation
- Automatic link establishment with multiple S-parameters or multi-lane S-parameter for victim and crosstalk signal paths
- Added High DPI monitor support for automatic DPI detection and GUI scaling
- Enhanced the Data Viewer to Improve FEC code word error analysis result presentation
New Nios® V Processor Features and Enhancements
- Added flash option for Nios® V Read-Only Zip File System - SDM Active Serial Configuration Flash.
- Added Hierarchical BSP support.
- Enhanced Nios® V software imports in Ashling RiscFree* Ashling RiscFree for Intel FPGAs.
