floop-interchange, Qloop-interchange

Enables or disables the loop interchange optimization done by the compiler as part of loop transformations.

Syntax

Linux:

-floop-interchange

-fno-loop-interchange

Windows:

/Qloop-interchange

/Qloop-interchange-

Arguments

None

Default

-floop-interchange
or /Qloop-interchange

Loop interchange is performed during loop transformation at optimization levels of O2 and above.

Description

This option enables or disables the loop interchange optimization done by the compiler as part of loop transformations. Loop interchange exchanges the order of nested loops to improve memory access patterns and cache locality, which can also expose better opportunities for vectorization. This option takes effect only if you specify an optimization level of O2 or higher.
