6.12.6.2. Clock Domain Crossing (CDC)

You can select different clocks for the transmitter and receiver interfaces. After AXI-Stream to Avalon® Streaming conversion, the crossbar uses a single clock. This clock selection is automatic. To prevent data loss and incoherency, the crossbar uses the dual clock FIFOs (DC FIFO) for clock domain crossing. If width adapters are present, CDC is present at ingress and egress ports via the DC FIFOs present in the width adapters. Otherwise, the standalone DC FIFOs are used for CDC.

In a multi-clock system, the crossbar clock is set to the highest clock frequency in the system. Clock domain crossing is performed at ingress and egress ports using AXI-Stream DC FIFOs.
