Qoption

Passes options to a specified tool.

Syntax

Linux:

-Qoption,string,options

Windows:

/Qoption,string,options

Arguments

string

Is the name of the tool.

options

Are one or more comma-separated, valid options for the designated tool.

Note that certain tools may require that options appear within quotation marks (" ").

Default

OFF

No options are passed to tools.

Description

This option passes options to a specified tool.

If an argument contains a space or tab character, you must enclose the entire argument in quotation marks (" "). You must separate multiple arguments with commas.

string can be any of the following:

  • cpp - Indicates the preprocessor for the compiler.

  • c - Indicates the Intel® oneAPI DPC++/C++ Compiler.

  • asm - Indicates the assembler.

  • link - Indicates the linker.

  • prof - Indicates the profiler.

  • On Windows* systems, the following is also available:

    • masm - Indicates the Microsoft assembler.

  • On Linux* systems, the following are also available:

    • as - Indicates the assembler.

    • gas - Indicates the GNU assembler.

    • ld - Indicates the loader.

    • gld - Indicates the GNU loader.

    • lib - Indicates an additional library.

    • crt - Indicates the crt%.o files linked into executables to contain the place to start execution.

NOTE:

This option only applies to host compilation. When offloading is enabled, it does not impact device-specific compilation.
