Black Screen When Starting Windows 11* after Intel® Arc™ A750 Graphics Driver Installation

Description

Hearing the Windows login sound but the screen is black after the drivers update.

Resolution

Troubleshooting:

  1. Update your system's BIOS (basic input/output system) firmware to the latest version.
    • Contact the motherboard manufacturer support team, to get assistance to update your BIOS firmware to the latest version. This is a critical update that may cause serious damage if the update fails.
  2. Once done with the BIOS update, install the latest Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics WHQL driver or the latest Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics Beta driver. Follow the clean installation steps for graphics.
    NoteThe crashes may have been caused by BIOS and driver compatibility, so it is critical to have an updated BIOS firmware and the latest graphics drivers installed.
  3. Reseat the HDMI or Display Port cables.
  4. Roll back to the previous version of the driver. Follow the How to Roll Back a Driver to a Previous Version in Windows® 10 and Windows 11*.
  5. Try a different video cable.
  6. Try a different video port.
  7. Connect the monitor to another system.
  8. Use a different monitor.
