NodeWeaver Hyperconverged AI Application Delivery Software* is a software-only hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution built to deliver full data center capabilities on virtually any x86-based hardware. NodeWeaver leverages the underlying off-the-shelf hardware components to create a virtualized application delivery platform to run any application (VM and container-based) at the edge, anywhere in the world, with no user intervention. Many AI-based use cases will reside at the edge and far edge, where it's simply not feasible - technologically or economically - to push all data back to a centralized cloud infrastructure for processing and analysis. Latency, network availability, bandwidth charges, and ingress/egress fees all present significant issues.
Consequently, there's a real need to provide full compute resources, with datacenter-like functionality, at these edge locations to store, process, and analyze data. Competing solutions are either too costly, too complex, or require too large of a footprint to be deployed at the far edge, ie; a small NEMA box attached to a pole in any outdoor environment.
NodeWeaver Hyperconverged AI Application Delivery Software was designed to be simple, lightweight, and efficient. While it runs very effectively on standard data center servers such as those from Dell, HP and SuperMicro, there are many edge use cases which, for a variety of reasons (i.e. space and power constraints, harsh environments, specialized needs, etc.) require industrial or embedded gateways/servers.
There are many Intel Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) Intel's ecosystem who build this type of specialized hardware designed for edge use cases, and combining their hardware with NodeWeaver Hyperconverged AI Application Delivery Software enables customers to right-size and optimize their edge application environments.
