The project is designed to run applications in an isolated environment with benefits comparable to running a complete operating system in a virtual machine.
Linux* Kernel Contributions
Intel continues its position as a top contributor to the Linux* kernel. The company provided over 13,000 lines of code in just over 1,300 change sets (roughly 10% of the changes) to the kernel version 5.14. This includes:
- Extensive testing of an x86 floating point unit (FPU) code cleanup intended to increase stability
- Contributions to the core scheduling feature that allow multi-tenant hosts to enable hyperthreading with reduced exposure of tenant data on shared cores
Open 3D Engine (O3DE*)
The O3DE* Foundation hosts an Apache* 2.0 licensed multiplatform 3D engine that enables developers and content creators to build Triple-A (AAA) games, cinema-quality 3D worlds, and high-fidelity simulations without fees or commercial obligations.
