Troubleshooting tips when your computer cannot read Intel® Optane™ Solid State Drives

Intel® Optane™ Solid State Drives cannot be recognized in the system and BIOS.

    • Try different cables and ports if possible.
    • Test a known working drive on the current port.

Did the error occur during the OS installation?
  • Make sure the OS system installation media (boot drive) is in good working condition and not damaged.
  • Use Secure Erase in the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool or do a Low-Level format on the SSD and try the installation again.
    • Secure Erase is blocked by Windows 8.1*, Windows® 10,  Windows 11*.
