Detailed Description

Overview

This update package includes the following production-level system software updates and update utilities:

  • System BIOS: R01.02.0004
  • ME Firmware: 06.01.04.089.0
  • BMC Firmware: 2.71-0
  • FRU: 0.09
  • CPLD: v5p4
  • sysfwupdt.efi: Version 16.0.12

Intel highly recommends reading ReleaseNotes_SFUP_1.0.16.txt entirety before performing the system update. 

 

System Software Requirements

Verifying that your system meets the documented requirements will ensure a successful update and provide the most reliable system functionality after the update has completed.

  • System BIOS: production version R01.02.0003 or later
  • BMC Firmware: production version 2.42 or later
  • CPLD: production version V5P4 or later

 

Important notes

  • If an issue is encountered while attempting to install R01.02.0004 on Windows OS, please manually uninstall the old version of the Sysfwupdt driver from your system, and then run the startup.bat file again
  • From BIOS R01.02.0004, the user must add the parameter 'UpdateNvram' in the BIOS script before performing a firmware downgrade to lower versions
  • Please refer to the respective "Release Notes" files for a complete list of known issues, workarounds, and detailed requirements.
  • The firmware check is not applicable; hence, updates will be triggered even when the versions in the system and in the SFUP package are the same.
  • Do NOT interrupt, reboot, or remove power from your system during the update process. Doing so may render your system inoperable.
  • Do NOT attempt to down rev the system software once loaded onto the system. Doing so may render your system inoperable.
  • All updates provided in this package are installed using the Windows* and Linux* operating environments only.
  • Do not modify any of the script files. The scripts, as written, will provide the most reliable update experience.
  • Refer to the user guide, which is available in the sysfwupdt folder for any update scenarios or sysfwupdt commands.
  • The ITK "cap" file needs to be customized; otherwise, the ".cap file" update will fail.
