4.2.3.1.2. Creating Initial Flash Image for HPS Boot First

Creating the initial flash image for HPS boot first is similar to creating the initial flash image for FPGA configuration first, with a few small changes described below.

Instead of selecting the JTAG Indirect Configuration File (.jic), select the RawBinary File for HPS Core Configuration (.rbf) file, then check the JTAG Indirect Configuration File for Periphery Configuration (. jic), Memory Map File (.map), and the Raw Programming Data File (.rpd) options as shown below.

You can also make the factory image and application image partitions much smaller, because they do not store the FPGA fabric configuration data.

After clicking the Generate button, the following additional files are generated:
  • initial_image_FACTORY_IMAGE.core.rbf—contains the FPGA fabric configuration data for the factory image.
  • initial_image_P1.core.rbf—contains FPGA fabric configuration data for the P1 application image.
