4.2.3. Creating Images

This section provides instructions for generating the initial image to be flashed onto the QSPI flash device, as well as the different application images that support RSU use cases. You can create these images using the Quartus® Prime Programming File Generator, either through the command line interface or the graphical interface.

Note: The QSPI Ownership selection feature described in the Setting QSPI Ownership section is not backward compatible. Therefore, when creating images for Remote System Update, do not use bitstreams created before the 25.1 release together with bitstreams created with 25.1 and later releases in the same QSPI image.
