9.1.1. Preparing the Visual Studio Environment

Before you run Visual Studio, ensure that you have performed these steps:

  1. Downloaded the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Pro Edition software.
  2. Installed the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Pro Edition software.
  3. Set the user environment variables.
  4. Installed an FPGA Board and set the QUARTUS_ROOTDIR_OVERRIDE user environment variable.

Visual Studio project displays an error if you have not set the environment. If you set the environment while Visual Studio is running, then reload Visual Studio.

Once you have completed the prerequisites, verify the environment by opening Edit the system environment variables > Environment Variables and search for environment through System variables.
