New in this Release

2026.0

Highlights

  • Preliminary support for new features in the upcoming scikit-learn 1.9 release, such as configurable sparse output types.
  • Extended support for the array API standard to all algorithms that are supported on GPU, fully enabling zero-copy workflows with libraries like PyTorch.
  • Leaner installations with optional GPU components for CPU-optimized workflows.

Improvements and Changes

  • Extension for Scikit-learn*:
    • t-SNE can now work with sparse data.
    • Sparse pandas data frames are now correctly handled as sparse inputs.
    • Patching for individual estimators now uses full paths and names of the patched scikit-learn objects to reduce ambiguity.
    • Added preview support for LogisticRegressionCV.
    • Array API support is expanded to more estimators (KNN, KMeans, LogisticRegression).
    • Fixed thread-safety issues in GPU estimators.
  • oneDAL:
    • Switched the static-link oneDAL C++ library to use dynamic linkage to the DPC++ components of MKL instead of static-linking them.
  • Common:
    • Moved the GPU and SPMD components of the oneDAL and scikit-learn-intelex libraries into separate libraries that are now optional dependencies, substantially reducing the size of CPU-only installs.

Known Issues and Limitations

The are no known issues at this time.

System Requirements

Hardware Requirements

The same as the hardware requirements for Intel® oneAPI DPC++ Compiler. See details at Release Notes for Intel® DPC++ Compatibility Tool.

GPU:

  • Intel® UHD Graphics for 11th generation Intel processors or newer
  • Intel® Iris® Xe graphics
  • Intel® Arc™ graphics
  • Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series
  • Intel® Data Center GPU Max Series

CPU:

  • Intel Atom® Processors
  • Intel® Core™ Processor Family
  • Intel® Xeon® Processor Family
  • Intel® Xeon® Scalable Performance Processor Family

Windows Intel® Graphics Driver

To install the driver follow the directions in the article appropriate for your device:

Contact your OEM representative for access to the Intel Registration Center.

Linux General Purpose Intel GPUs (GPGPU) Driver

For all Intel GPUs, see this article, https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/, and follow the directions for your device.

Software Requirements

These OS distributions are tested by Intel or known to work; other distributions may or may not work and are not recommended. If you have questions, access the Intel Community Forums when you need assistance.  If you have Commercial Support, create a support ticket.

Operating Systems:

  • 64-bit Linux*: Ubuntu* 22.04 LTS, 24.04 LTS, 25.04 (GPU). Rocky 9, 9.6 (GPU), 10 (GPU)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server* 15 SP4, 15 SP5, 15 SP6, 15 SP7, 16.0 (CPU)
  • 64-bit Windows* Pro & Enterprise 10, 11
    • Using Microsoft’s Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2) in Windows 10 and Windows 11, you can install the native Linux distribution of Intel® oneAPI Toolkit and libraries on Windows for CPU and GPU workflows. Details here
  • Windows Server* 2019, 2022, 2025* (CPU)
  • Red Hat* Enterprise Linux 8, 9, 10 (CPU)
  • Red Hat* Enterprise Linux 8.1, 9.4 9.6, 10 (GPU)
  • Fedora 41, 42 (CPU)
  • Debian 11, 12 (CPU)

To build examples with DPC++ API extensions, you also need:

  • cmake

Note: Minor releases (e.g., 2026.1) automatically inherit all OS requirements from the base major release (2026.0). Only operating systems marked with (+) are newly added in that minor release, and those marked with (–) are removed. Asterisks(**) indicate deprecations. All others remain unchanged and are not duplicated in the table.

Graphics Driver Installation

  • Windows Intel® Graphics Driver
To install the driver follow the directions in the article appropriate for your device

    • Intel® Arc™ Graphics, 11th-13th Gen Intel® Core™ processor directions.
    • Xe Dedicated, 6th-10th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Graphics, and related Intel Atom®, Pentium®, and Celeron® processors directions. Driver version varies depending on the Intel® Graphics in the system.
    • Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series (ATS-M). Contact your OEM representative for access to the Intel® Registration Center.
  • Linux General Purpose Intel® GPUs (GPGPU) Driver
For all Intel® GPUs, see this article, Overview, and follow the directions for your device.

Support Deprecated

Please note that the oneAPI Data Analytics Library will no longer be part of the oneAPI Toolkit starting 2026.0. All functionality will remain available through the existing, supported package‑manager distribution.

Support Removed

  • Extension for Scikit-learn*:
    • Removed fitted attributes of BasicStatistics without underscores.
    • Removed the ‘use_raw_inputs’ option from GPU estimators scikit-learn-intelex. Array API should be used instead.
    • Removed support for deprecated DPCTL tensors. DPNP arrays should be used instead.
    • Removed the deprecated option to build scikit-learn-intelex without the onedal interface, increasing the minimum version of oneDAL required.
