Manage Suppression Rules
You can manage the suppression rules applied to each project during
Intel Inspector
analysis by:
To apply suppression rules during analysis, select the
Apply Suppressions
radio button on the
Target
tab of the
Project Properties
dialog box.
Open the Suppressions Tab of the Project Properties Dialog Box
- Choose.
- In theProject Propertiesdialog box, choose theSuppressionstab.
Add a .sup File
- Click theAdd Filebutton.
- Browse to and choose a.supfile.
- Click theOpenbutton.
Outcome: The
Intel Inspector
updates the rules in the
Suppression rule list
region accordingly.
Add a Directory That Contains (or Will Contain) .sup Files
- Click theAdd Directorybutton.
- Do one of the following:
- Browse to and choose an existing directory.
- Create a new directory to which you plan to save.supfiles.
- Click theOKbutton.
Outcome: The
Intel Inspector
:
- Displays the path to a*.supfile mask in theSuppression filesregion.
- Updates the rules in theSuppression rule listregion accordingly.
Intel Inspector
does not search recursively in directories for files identified by a
*.sup
mask.
Remove a .sup File or Directory Containing .sup Files
- Click a file or mask in theSuppression filesregion.
- Click theRemovebutton directly below theSuppressions filesregion.
Outcome: The
Intel Inspector
updates the rules in the
Suppression rule list
region accordingly.
- Removing a file or directory does not delete the file or directory from your file system.
- You cannot remove the project suppression directory.
Remove a Specific Rule
- Click a rule in theSuppression rule listregion.
- If desired, click theView...button to view the stack frame(s) in the rule. When you are finished viewing, close theView Stackdialog box.
- Click theRemovebutton directly below theSuppression rule listregion.
Removing a rule from the list deletes the rule from your file system.
