Description
According to PostgreSQL, their product is an open-source “object-relational database system with over 35 years of active development that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability, feature robustness, and performance.” To test performance for businesses running PostgreSQL in the cloud, we used the HammerDB TPROC-C benchmark. We focused on three types of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 instances at various vCPU counts: M7i instances with 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, M6i instances with 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, and M5 instances with 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. With impressive performance gains, M7i instances proved themselves a worthwhile investment for any business that relies on OLTP-supported applications.
