Why do I get an error in generating programming files, and it shows as an invalid license for Nios® V Processor for FPGA in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.1?

As FPGA Intellectual Property (IP) solutions have replaced Nios® V Processor for FPGA for IPs from the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.1 version, you may encounter an error while generating programming files. To resolve this, ensure to install Nios V Processor for FPGA no-cost license before using the below mentioned list of IPs.

Error Message: 

Error(23714): Can not generate programming files for your current project because you do not have a valid license. Visit the Intel FPGA Self-Service Licensing Center at https://licensing.intel.com.  
Warning(115005): Unlicensed IP: "Nios V/g General Purpose Processor Intel FPGA IP (6AF7 018C)"  
Warning(115004): Unlicensed encrypted design file: "C:/Users/*” - Intel 

To work around this problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.1, follow the steps below to  

1. Obtain Nios® V Processor for FPGA no cost license. 
   1. Go to: https://licensing.intel.com/psg/s/?language=en_US (a registered account is needed) 
   2. Select Sign up for evaluation or no cost licenses
   3. Select the license needed and click Next. 
   4. Choose an already existing computer or create a new one (NIC ID of PC is needed https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683472/23-4/identifying-host-s-nic-id.html) 
   5. Read and accept the terms of use, then click Generate.  
   6. License is generated and sent to the account email address.  
2. Add the license file to Quartus Tools > License Setup > License File. 
3. To ensure license installation, re-run the assembler
