Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Programmer and Tools
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v21.3 and earlier, the enhanced compression option is missing for Intel® Arria® 10 devices when you are trying to generate partial reconfiguration rbf files from pmsf files in the convert programming files tool. This is a GUI problem.

As shown in the screenshot below, the enhanced compression option is missing in pmsf file property setting.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, use the following command to generate partial reconfiguration rbf file from pmsf file:

    quartus_cpf -c <filename.pmsf> <filename.rbf> -o enhanced_bitstream_compression=ON

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.1 and Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software version 21.1.
