Due to a problem of linking to simulation library files in Intel® Acceleration Stack Version 1.2.1, the following error messages may occur when trying to simulate a design with digital signal processing (DSP) intellectual property (IP):
# ** Error: <root_directory>/s_kpoc_rtl/quartus_fp_dsp/fp_add_dsp/altera_fpdsp_block_191/sim/fp_add_dsp_altera_fpdsp_block_191_m5cimji.sv(30): Module 'twentynm_fp_mac' is not defined.
# ** Error: (vlog-13069) <Quartus Installation Path>/quartus/eda/sim_lib/twentynm_atoms.v(1): near "/": syntax error, unexpected '/', expecting class.
To work around this problem in the Intel® Acceleration Stack Version 1.2.1, follow these steps:
- Refer to the latest Makefile.
https://github.com/OPAE/opae-sim/tree/master/ase/Makefile
Makefile is generated by executing afu_sim_setup commands in your design and you must customize it.
-
Go to the Download Center for FPGAs and install the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software with the specific version that you are using.
-
Go to the <Quartus Installation Path>/ quartus/eda directory and find the sim_lib simulation library folder.
-
Copy the sim_lib folder and replace the sim_lib simulation library folder found in the Intel® Acceleration Stack <Quartus Installation Path>/quartus/eda directory.
This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future patch release.
