Is there a known problem with configuring an Intel® Arria® 10 device over JTAG when the JTAG chain also contains a Intel® MAX®10 device?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a known problem in the Quartus® II software version 14.1, you may not be able to configure an Intel® Arria® 10 device over JTAG if there is also an Intel® MAX® 10 device in the same chain that is not being programmed in the same JTAG operation.

    Resolution

To avoid this problem, physically bypass the MAX 10 device on the board and only configure the Arria 10 device, or configure both devices in the same operation.

This issue has been fixed starting Quartus® II software version 15.1
