Do I need to update my MAX PLUS® II software if the device I am targeting has been through a process change?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    If the date code of the device is more recent than the release date of the software, you should upgrade your programming software to ensure that the software can recognize the new silicon ID. You can download the most current programming software from the Altera® website. You do not have to regenerate the Programmer Object File (.pof) when targeting a device on a newer process.
