Why Do My IP Functions Not Reflect Updates for the Quartus II Software Version 12.0 SP1?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the installer for the Quartus® II software version 12.0 SP1, IP functions generated in this version of software may not reflect the latest updates. This problem affects users who installed Service Pack 1 on top of an existing installation of the Quartus II software version 12.0. Users who installed the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1 using a standalone or base installer are not affected.

To identify whether your Quartus II software installation is affected by this problem, examine the size of the file <Altera software installation directory>/ip/altera/common/lib/sopc_wizard.jar. The correct filesize is 493324. In Quartus II software installations affected by this problem, the filesize is 493321. If your filesize  matches this incorrect value, download and install the patch below.

    Resolution

A patch is available to fix this problem for the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1. Download and install Patch 1.07 from the appropriate link below. After installing this patch, regenerate any IP functions in your design.

Note that for any IP regenerated after applying this patch, the file header may still indicate the version as 12.0. However, the file contents are actually generated with version 12.0 SP1.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP2.
