Why does the “RX Word Aligner Pattern (Hex)” Value Appear Incorrectly for the GbE or GbE 1588 Transceiver Configuration Rules of the Stratix® 10 L- and H-Tile Device Transceiver PHY?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • L-Tile H-Tile Transceiver Native PHY Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA IP
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Software, the “RX Word Aligner Pattern (Hex)” value contained in the “Standard PCS” tab of the GUI does not reflect the complete ordered set required for the RX Word Aligner to achieve synchronization when in GbE or GbE 1588 mode.

    Resolution

In order to ensure that the RX Word Aligner in GbE or GbE 1588 mode behaves correctly, enter the full ordered set according to the IEEE 802.3, Clause 36,40 specification. For example K28.5, D16.2.
