Why does the NCO Intel® FPGA IP fail to generate RTL when using the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro edition software version 20.1?

Environment

  • NCO Intel® FPGA IP
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 20.1, you may see "Error: qsys-generate failed with exit code 1" when generating the NCO Intel® FPGA IP.

    Resolution

    No workaround to this problem exists in version 20.1 of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro  Edition software.

    This problem has been fixed starting in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro  Edition software version 20.2.
