Why does fpgaconf command fail with error message “No accelerator found to reconfigure”?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem of current version of the Intel® Acceleration Stack, when AFU reads/writes host memory at an invalid address, it would cause the FIM to become locked up. For successive PR using fpgaconf command, you will always see the error “No accelerator found to reconfigure”.

Resolution

To work around the problem currently, the PAC Card needs to be power cycled to recover from this state.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Acceleration Stack version 1.2.1.
