Switch On Wi-Fi Radio Using Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility

This article shows how to turn on your Wi-Fi radio using the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility.

Note The Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility is not installed by default.
For Windows 7*, 8.1*, and Windows® 10, you may turn on your Wi-Fi radio using the native Windows Operating System menu.

  1. Find the toolbar in the bottom-right corner of your desktop.
  2. Locate the Intel® PROSet icon.PROset icon You can right-click the icon, or double-click:
    • Right-click the Intel® PROSet icon. PROset Icon Click “WiFi On.”

    • Double-click the Intel® PROSet icon PROset icon to open the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility. Select “WiFi On” in the Hardware drop down option.

  3. The Intel® PROSet icon changes to PROset icon.
  4. The utility automatically connects to an available network, or you can manually connect to a network.
Note If you do not see the icon on the toolbar, the feature is not enabled.
To enable the feature:
  1. Open the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility. Select Tools > Application Settings.
  2. In the Advanced Settings list under Taskbar, select Show icon on the taskbar and OK.
