Consumer Accounts: How To Self-Reset Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Description

Scenarios when you may need to reset your Intel authentication include but are not limited to:

  • Changed phone and need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) again.
  • Updated the phone number and can no longer access Intel websites.
  • Error message prompt: Your account is incorrectly configured, please contact the help desk.
  • Receiving message prompt: Verify your identity.

Resolution

Reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) leads to the reset application.
Below is a guide through the reset process:

  1. Go to the Reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) application for Consumers.
  2. Enter your registered email address, then click Send Verification Code.
  3. A code will be sent to your registered email address. Open your email and copy the code.
  4. Enter the code on the next screen, click Verify Code. Click Send New Code/Resend Code if you did not receive the code.
    Note

    Code is valid only for 15 minutes. Restart the process if your code has expired.

  5. Open your email and click the link to reset MFA.
    Note

    If you have logged out from your browser, you will be asked to Sign-in.

  6. Your MFA reset is complete. Click Sign-in and re-register your phone number.
    Note

    Only phone call and SMS are supported authentication methods in this step.
